An example is a fireguard preventing access to an open fire. The harm caused by an accident can be minimised.This is "secondary prevention". For example, a seat belt can reduce injury even if a car crash occurs. Finally, rapid attention to an injury can reduce mortality and morbidity. This is "tertiary prevention".
