Pungent and salty in flavor, warm in property, acts on the Bladder channel.
Expels Wind Dampness to relieve pain, activates the channels, softens and dissolves fish bones.
clinical use and major combinations
For arthralgia caused by Wind Dampness, numbness in the extremities, and stiffness of the joints, it is used alone or with wine. For Wind Dampness in the lower back, it is used with Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Dang Gui).
For fish bones lodged in the throat, it is decocted in water or used with vinegar.
dosage and administration
5—10 g; for a bone stuck in the throat, use 30 g.
Contraindicated in patients with Deficient Qi.
