Congestive heart failure (CHF). Myocardial performance has been shown to improve in some patients after renal transplantation. Thus, a low ejection fraction alone does not automatically exclude patients from transplantation. In contrast, patients with severe irreversible myocardial disease may not be good candidates for transplantation.
