Extrarenal signs frequently present in patients with types II and III mixed cryoglobulinemia, either essential or due to hepatitis C virus infection, with or without cryoglobulinemic nephropathy. In patients with cryoglobulinemic nephropathy, the systemic signs usually appear months or years before renal complications develop. The onset of these signs, however, may be concomitant with or even subsequent to the onset of renal signs. Abdominal pain is due to mesenteric vsasculitis [13].
